A Day in The Sun !!

So I know  its June, and Summer is on its way out but for better or for worse, Mumbai has no definite climate set so I get to pick out some gorgeous stuff which would make Summer seems less hot if you know what I mean. Of course this is my guilt making excuses for not blogging for such a long time and missing the spring and the Summer Fashion altogether but this is my blog so I could afford to take a breather and blog my way into a new season.. I know I have a lot of catching up to do and so do you; So here we go !!

Currently I am swooning over one trend that has been forever (for the creative types) and still gets reinvented every season; I am talking about color blocking!! This trend is huge on the runaways and off it too and why not since its very do-able and all it takes is having fun with your imagination. The most remarkable thing about this trend is how you can customize the look accordingly. The 'it' colors of the season are bright fuchsia, turquoise, mint greens, neon yellows and pale reds. For a bold look you can mix and match any two colors from the opposite side of the color palette to avoid looking like the Sun yourself. In order to play safe, you can mix a lighter shade with a more luminous one..think a pale lilac blouse paired with a bright turquoise.

If you are a novice then the best way to start is to color block your accessories with your outfit such as shoes and bags which help make the maximum impact. Another way to incorporate color-blocking is through your make-up.., think gorgeous lime green eyes with a nude lip gloss and porcelain skin. What you can achieve is just sheer art!!

JUMPSUITS

I have been closely watching the revival of the jumpsuit trend. Slowly but surely its making its way and seeping into the summer fashion scene and I for one is pleased. I still remember the dungrees that I used to adore wearing years back, which then gradually had faded away. Well in fashion, what goes around, comes around and it has with loads of glam no less. Jumpsuits can be a little tricky to wear but you can select the one that suits your body type.

The resort wear collection from Chanel has a very spring-summer feel to it. The fabrics been used are light weight and breezy making them ideal choices for the hot summer evenings. The full length jumpsuits suit long legs so people who are petite can either wear stilettos or else go for something shorter and above the knees. Also a v necked style creates an illusion of height.

I like the short styled jumpsuits as they are great for summers and looks very chic and glam. also it suits all body types so very versatile.

It is best to avoid very loose fitted jumpsuits as it doesn't look good hanging. At the same time, tight fitted ones also need to be worn accordingly. Jumpsuits suit all occasions.. Shopping, Brunches, Evenings and also for those night outs. If you are bored with wearing the same old LBD's and skirts, then just jump into one, accessorize with sky-high heels and blingy belts and watch heads turn.

Summer Heat !!

How do you know that summer is around the corner?? An increase in the heat (which is kind of obvious), humidity (hmm), eyes encased with sun glasses, jeans going for a toss, and yeah every issue of fashion magazines screaming the advent of fashion weeks. Well I love summers for all the colour and brightness that it brings to our lives in every way and of course it also provides a good excuse for me to indulge into more shopping.

 So the other day, I set off to browse the stores. Here is a list of some of the things that caught my eye:

Shorts are back again. I am very bored with the usual blue denim ones, but Remanika has a great collection of cotton ones in greens and magenta with black imprints. They were rather eye-catching and also had a cotton belt with it…Would look great paired with a white shirt. Would also recommend the pretty sleeveless embroidered tops fitted in the front and flowy down.

One shoulder tops and dresses are also the flavour of the season. It’s perfect for an evening or a night out. Wear stilettos to enhance the look further. Simply love the knitted multicoloured dress...

 The shops are flooded with accessories… Headbands are a great investment in summers. Will keep your hair in place and will raise your glam quotient. The satin ones with bows are perfect. Also I will pick big chunky bangles. A string of pearls also looks really chic and can be paired with almost anything if you keep the length in mind (very important).

 Bags and clutches in shades of green are flooding the stores. Owning one will convince people that you are really involed in the green drive...

I think its time to ditch black. Purple eye pencil (I am very partial to this colour). Can’t wait to doll up my eyes. Also a blush in rose colour or peach is perfect for the summer.

Glares… Necessity more than a style statement. It's important to protect those pretty eyes isn’t it?? Don't you simply love the electric blue frames.. sigh!!
