SHOES; <3 THEM

I am a total shoe junkie. The sight of the sparkling beauties melts me into a gooey puddle. I am one of those people who believe that shoes can either make or break your outfit.
Charles and Keith, Aldo and tres mode are some of my all time favorites.

This is my latest acquisition from Charles and Keith. I loved the colour and I think it is perfect for the summers; fresh and colourful and can be teamed up with skirts and shorts.

This navy blue colored heels is perfect for the summery evenings. It can be paired with a yellow sundress for an evening wear or a white shirt and denim for a more casual day look.

Since animal prints are big this season, I thought it will be wise to invest in this ankle stilettos. It's a party must have and gives your LBD a magical touch.

SHOES <3 THEM!!

Charles and keith is one of my favourite shoe store and I just can't help but melt everytime I look at the beauties that are on display. Strangely it can also mean long spells of depression and irritation when I can't buy 5 pairs at once.

WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK

White has already become a hot favorite this summer. Everybody famous has been sporting the white element in all its glory. And why not!! After all its very easy on the eyes, keeps you cool and minty fresh throughout the day.

Fall-Winter Haute Couture Collections of 2009-2010 that were shown in Paris week featured the Elie Saab Haute Couture Collection in a fairytale white collection.

Some of the must haves for your closet this summer

You can pair this with your skinny jeans for a day look.

A white skirt is perfect for brunches as well as for the evenings. They make for a great party assemble if paired with a sequined corset or halter. White beads complement almost all outfits. Nails can be painted with the revlon white nail paint to give a fresh look.

The Maybelline white stay UV compact is also a must for the harsh summers.

Black and white dotted bangle completes the look.

DIY BANGLES

It's so true that you are at your creative best when you don't have anything to do. At least it's very true in my case. So I decided to revamp my bangle collection a bit. Since summer is already here, I thought it would be a great time to turn all colourful.

What you can do is if you have some chunky bangles in silver and golden tones which you no longer use.

Take some thick colourful satin ribbons in the colour of your choice and wind it over the bangles and stick the ends with some glue. Be sure to cover every inch of the bangle thoroughly and voilà, your new artsy bangles are ready.

SPARKLING SEQUINS!!

I am loving the  revival of the vintage dazzle. It makes a eye-catching trend which takes me back to the disco era. Yes the SEQUINS are back with a bang. As opposed to what people think,  I believe that sequins are really versatile; It's up to you to wear it the way you want. Take a look at some of my favorites.

You just need a pair of killer stilettos to go with the outfit and avoid any other accessories since the bling factor is eye-catching enough.

[caption id="attachment_123" align="aligncenter" width="200" caption="Image via style.com"][/caption]

I love how the red open toed stilettos balances the look .

An important thing to keep in mind is not to go for bling in all items. As in the above left picture, the sequined skirt is paired with a satin shirt. This way the fabulous sequined item stands out!!

Sequined jackets can help jazz up an ordinary outfit (middle). Just pair any silk top with a sequined jacket and skinny jeans and you are good to go. Also a sparkling top can be paired with black basics(right).

One of my favorite charachters 'serena' from gossip girl wearing the wonderful golden sequined dress is enough to make me join the bling brigade.

DO IT YOURSELF:

You can jazz up your old shirts and tops by pasting sequins or stitching sequined motifs onto them. It's an easy, inexpensive way to being a trendsetter. Also sequins can be used on bags, shoes, accessories... You just have to be rich in your imagination.

Another nail trend that is back is the half-moon manicure. it's basically the French manicure in the reverse though instead of the usual pinks and whites , you can experiment with bolder and darker colours. This trend has been popping up in the international runways and was also seen in the christian Dior show

Steps to achieving a perfect half-moon manicure :

First I painted two coats of the base colour (white) all over the nail and waited for it to dry.

Then I put the nail stickers on the edge of my nail bed to cover a portion of my top nail which resembles a half-moon now, and painted the bottom half of my nail.

You can experiment with different shades and colour coördinate with your outfit also

PRETTY EYES IN A SEC..

I am so tired of the usual eyeliner, mascara and kajal routine for my eyes. What I wanted was some subtle colour on my eyelids to wear in the summers. Colours like blues and greens though look fab at nights, they don't go with the day look in my opinion. My friend suggested that I swipe a little of my regular coloured lip balm on my eyelids and that's when I found my answer. Not only did it add a dash of color, it looked very fresh and chic. I smudged a little kajal and I was ready to go.

I used the nivea lip care star fruit in strawberry which added the right amount of pinkish glow to my eyes for a very flirty fresh look.

Also the lip balms from body shop are great. The pink satsuma shimmer lip balm is great if you want a little shimmer on the eyelids.

TOTAL MAKE OVER !!

Some of the favorite items from my make up kit...

Love the greens and the blues. This season is totally right to experiment with rich chocolates, browns, purples and dark sparkly grey for the night. This colour is my favourite in Faces.

[caption id="attachment_94" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Lakme rouge"][/caption]

I love to see some colour on the cheeks. I found the maybelline pinks too light and not very natural. The maybelline peach blush is subtle and great for the day. The lakme pure rouge blush also is great for both day as well as night wear.

[caption id="attachment_95" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Bronzer"][/caption]

It's great for those nightouts. It lends a disco goddess look. Just apply on the hollow of your cheeks and sweep some rouge blush on the outsides to make your cheek bones stand out. The bronzer reflects the light and give a sun-kissed glow which is simply irresistible. I recommend the dream mousse blusher from maybelline.

[caption id="attachment_96" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Elizabeth Arden "][/caption]

One of my favourites colours as it can be used daily. I love the Elizabeth Arden's pink honey pearl as it has a great texture and blends easily with the texture of my lips. Lip glosses are also great. I love the color bars metallic lip glosses in shades of mauve, pinks and peaches. Lakmes aqua shine glosses are also in my list of favourites.

[caption id="attachment_97" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Image at sephora.com"][/caption]

Highlighting the eyes is a must in make up. The lakme eye artist is the best bet as a liner. Also the glide on pencils from colour bar and Lakme in shades of cobalt blue, moss-green, brown, greys are a must buy.

The last but not the least a great perfume to keep you mint fresh in the summers. I recommend pretty woman.

SUMMER MUSTHAVES !!

These are two of my picks that I am sure, will help me face the scorching summers ahead..

[caption id="attachment_88" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Loreal antifrizz serum"][/caption]

Thanks to the Mumbai heat and humidity, frizz is a definite problem. Loreal anti frizz serum has been a saving grace. Just a few drops after shampoo and it keeps my hair totally soft and in place.

[caption id="attachment_89" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Aloe vera face wash"][/caption]

I simply love body shop's aloe vera foaming face wash. It is perfect for dry as well as normal skin. Since it is mild it leaves the skin soft and fresh.
