LAY IT OUT IN LAVENDER!!

I am a beach person. I love the sea; the swirling of the waves, the strong water currents, the colourful marine life and the mystery of it all fascinates me. It calms and soothes my otherwise jangled up nerves and that’s why maybe the color palette inspired by it never fails to disappoint me. I love the various hues of blue and aquamarine which extends to greens and purples even. Browns and whites also add to the mystique of the oceans.

I think blues, greens and purple are the colours of the season. The best thing is that they could be paired with various other colours for a rather eye-catching effect. Blues with yellows or purples with browns...You can just let the imagination flow and I am sure you won’t be disappointed. Not only clothes, but accessories and shoes also look fabulous in these hues. My personal favourite is lavender which is a tad lighter than purple and is easier to mix and match and yeah makes me feel very royal indeed..

A few picks from the spring-fashion 2010-11 by Marc Jacob which I simply adored:

The colours are actually making the dress stand out. Different hues of blues and     purples, with the bow lending it an extra feminine touch. I like...

The high waisted skirt is a clear winner with its rather unique cut and the huge bow. Also the yellow strappy stiletto adds to the appeal!

CANDIES ANYONE??

When we think of style, we think of runways, models, labels, accessories, bags the works…what about some fashionable places?? Yeah you may think I am plain crazy but I try to look for style everywhere.. So the other day when I and my friend went to candies, the first thing that I remarked was wow!! This is certainly stylish and very different from the usual... Located in Bandra the décor is great and I almost forgot that I was in Mumbai. Modern but unconventional... Totally my style. It has a lot of levels with an Italian villa like feel. Loved the concept of sky gardens…Very colourful with loads of greens and purples. I felt I was in the midst of nature . Aptly named candies because it’s totally and utterly irresistible...

There is also a new fad that has begun. Sales. No I am not talking about the usual sales in malls or shops but shopping while brunching. Sounds good right?? The candies Bazaar is one such place. On the 13th they had organised an event with all pampering sessions for the gals with the usual display of accessories, bags, hair extensions and the likes. Quite a while ago Zenzi had organised something similar, inviting the fashionistas to pick up there favourite items, bond with their friends, get pampered…Very nice, innovative and fresh.. Even bootleggers in Colaba has these wonderful ladies night where you can sip cosmos, gossip about the latest thing on your mind and browse through the latest displays with great music to help you beat the mid-week blues…As I always say there is nothing like chocolate and in this case shopping to turn your week around!!!

Gossiping your Way to Fashion..

“Gossip Girl”…I think it should be a synonym for fashion. I am sure that many of you are aware of the most stylish show in TV today (though I think the season 3 has still not been aired in India) , but I am sure the previous two seasons have been an eye opener to the latest trends which is a real treat for the eyes. I am left mesmerized by the signature styles of all the characters in the show. There is not much to choose between Blair or Serena or even Vanessa or jenny for that matter. Blair’s chic vintage ladylike look is in stark contrast with the sexy and bold Serena sporting a lot of bling..

I simply love Blair’s style… Vintage and very 80's inspired. Love those frills and the laces and the stockings. I feel it’s a great piece to invest in. It can actually brighten up your old skirt in a jiffy and it looks too sexy.. A cross between naughty and nice. You can play with colours or just keep it simple with black. Another popular one is the fishnets which you can pair up with a black leather mini...bold and biker chic..

Another accessory to look out for is the hair band. It instantly brightens up your face and hair and perks up you outfit. A lot of varieties are available today. I would recommend the coloured satin ones with little bows which I think are ohh sooo cute and girly.

Love the red coloured flower band.. Also if not a headband then even a fine satin ribbon tied at the back can do the trick as is seen… The best news is that they work with all hair types be it straight or wavy.

Closer home I discovered these perfect beauties in Aldo accessories. Not over the top but really pretty. The red headband has a very schoolgirly look and will look great with anything white while the stripes with the purple bow is more bold and will go well with a ruffled top and skirts.

Simply love the skirt. The colour is very this season and so is the shirt she has paired it up. Totally unconventional yet glam... it works!!

A lesson to be learnt from this show ; if you really want to leave a powerful impact on people, it is really important that you be “you”. Though there is nothing wrong in taking inspiration, you should always try to blend a little of you in it. Let your personality show. I believe what you wear tells a lot about who we really are and lets face it, why would you want to hide how awesome you really are… rite!!

HEY PEOPLE!!!!

HEY People... So this is my first blog, so if my dear friends are reading this Plz Plz go easy on me. If any of you are wondering what the name means well "tendenza" is an Italian word for Trends and 'Syn" is well just a part of my name. Actually just wanted to customise the word a bit. Since a long time I have toyed with the idea of owning a blog but as confused as I am always, it took me a lot of soul-searching to find out what I want to write about and well if I try to be modest I should say that it just took me a couple of minutes to find my answer. Because this was something that i always under my skin.. FASHION..It represents creatvity..vibrant colours..and most important a change from everything that is boring and mundane.

I have always been fascinated by this thing . I still wonder what made me major in biotechnology, when clearly all what interested me, was the "fashion weeks" or "whats this season" or the best bargains that's available. I guess I can call it temporary insanity which threatened to turn permanent when I was forced to sit through 3 hours of torture, culturing something that could be seen only through a microscope..hmph..Not that I would ever underestimate researching. I totally respect it, but unfortunately it never grew on me. I rather browse the latest fashion magazines depicting the colours of the season or the haircuts. Well guess then I think I have substantiated my point clearly enough (I am running out of examples)..I simple love

Some people know what they want to do from the very start and sometimes it takes us time to get to know what we want to do with our life, though we might be aware of it subconsciously. I belong to the second set unfortunately. I realize now that however amazing my major had been, my heart was never in it. Back in the college days I blamed it on my laziness or my lack of enthusiasm in the study department whatsoever but now I know the real reason behind it. I want to be a fashion journalist. So I guess this will be a small step towards recreating my dream into a more solid reality. I am eager to know what is next….
